How Does Your Garden Grow?

How Does Your Garden Grow?

"How Does Your Garden Grow?" Remember the old nursery rhyme about a garden: "Mary, Mary, Quite contrary, How does your garden grow? With silver bells and cockle shells and little maids all in a row." I don't have any of those, but I love our little garden off the back patio where Roger and I enjoy our morning cup of coffee. We have geraniums, marigolds, "knock out" roses, and red, white, and blue petunias. Our arbor is covered with green vines and produce sweet smelling little yellow blossoms, and threecrepe myrtle trees add more color. Then there are two lovely hibiscus shrubs with peach colored blooms. But as lovely as these flowers are, I ask myself, "How is my spiritual garden growing?" Paul prayed for the Christians in Colossians 1:10, "…that you might be filled with the knowledge of his will and spiritual understanding in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God," and goes on to describe the patience, longsuffering, joyfulness and thankfulness that should characterize our lives.. Today are you growing closer to the Lord Jesus through reading His Word and praying? Are you sharing the good news about Jesus with others? Is your life blossoming with joy and patience and gratitude? Join me as I seek to have these beautiful spiritual flowers in my life this summer.
